I've received reader input and decided to take action on some of them.
Instead of the relative timestamps I'll use absolute ones instead. After all anyone checking the dates would be able to see that the main story is set in 2016, and thus the midsummer's even -frame story has to be set in 2040, something that the prelude made clear as well.
So I'll just state the year instead of using the clunky 'twenty four years ealier' -construction. From time to time I guess the dinner guests simply have to do an 'as you know, Bob' and comment that the current year is 2040.
